A past workshop description - Random Rhythms
Participants will literally roll the dice (special RFU RhythmMaker dice) as we collectively discover interesting, likely "never been played on planet earth" rhythms. You will be surprised how easy it is to create new patterns. Ultimately, the goal is to create an original, multi-part ensemble song from the discovered patterns, deciding as a group what best works together. This workshop is for ongoing (not beginner) drummers who are comfortable (or at least tolerant!) reading drum notation. Lots to learn from them B's and O's ya know!

2 hour workshop, cost is $20. Instructor Tom Gill. Held at Rhythm For Unity. Minimum 5 students to hold a session. Please indicate intention at least one week prior to class via call or email (tom@rhythmforunity.com). You will receive a confirmation if session has met the minimum enrollment. DON’T JUST SHOW UP! tom@rhythmforunity.com 414-774-8848
.
Note, unless noted, these are not for beginner drummers. Interested in learning more rhythms, techniques, ensemble play, etc. but can’t commit to an 8-week class? RFU is offering a series of “stand alone” (each concentrates on one particular theme, skill or rhythm). There would be one or two a month and I’m planning on hosting them on Tuesdays or Wednesdays here at RFU. There are a lot of drummers out there who have had the beginning classes and may want to hone their skills, have some fun and get their drumming fix again.

RFU often visits schools, day care facilities and pre-schools to share Rhythm and Fun with kids of all ages. I've done occasional classes or 1-time workshops here at RFU for kids, kids & a parent, or families. Spread the word to your community and friends that RFU is willing to come to them with drums and facilitation to help spread the rhythm and cultivate the community. You can schedule a special class with your kids and their friends for a one time or ongoing drum experience. Host at your home or come to our Drum Jam Room. Plenty of instruments, plenty of fun!
